During a recent media press meet, director Ram Jagadeesh made some interesting revelations regarding his new film, Court. The film, featuring Priyadarshi in a central role, is set to release on March 14.
Roshan and Sridevi's Characters
When questioned regarding the characters played by Roshan and Sridevi in the movie, Ram Jagadeesh divulged that he had tried out quite a few actors for the character before settling for them. "We tried many actors for Chandu's part, but Roshan suited us perfectly. He was immensely interested in the project and would call me constantly," he divulged.
About Sridevi's role, Jagadeesh said that they struggled to find the perfect actress for the character. "We were searching for a Telugu girl who was fresh to the industry and had the correct age and acting talent. We nearly gave up, but then I noticed this girl's Instagram page, and she was perfect for the character," he said.
POCSO Act in the Film
The director also spoke about the POCSO Act, which is an important part of the story in the film. "The POCSO Act is an important law that people don't know much about. I wanted to bring it to light, and that's why I've incorporated it in the film," he said.
Priyadarshi's Character
When questioned about Priyadarshi's role in the movie, Jagadeesh confirmed that he had met the actor with the script initially. "I explained the idea of the film to Priyadarshi, and he was keen to be a part of it. We have worked together earlier, and I know him well. He is an excellent actor and a good friend," he stated.
Technical Aspects
The director also discussed the technical side of the film, stating that they had tried to produce a quality product. "We've collaborated with Vijay Bulganin, who has created wonderful music for the film. Dinesh Purushothaman has done the cinematography, and his output is excellent," he added.
Jagadeesh's Journey in the Film Industry
When quizzed about his career in films, Jagadeesh said he was an assistant director on a few films, such as "Oorvasiivo Rakshasivo" and "Rara Krishnayya". He had also directed a short film, for which he had won the Best Director award.
