Malayalam actor Fahadh Faasil is gearing up for the release of his latest film, Aavesham. During a recent press meet for the film, Faasil opened up about his role in the highly anticipated Pushpa 2: The Rule.

Faasil will be playing the character of Bhanwar Singh Shekhawat in the Allu Arjun-starrer sequel. The actor revealed that his character follows a different and much more interesting track in Pushpa 2, compared to the first film.

"There's no cruelty involved, but the character will be interesting," Faasil said addressing a question about the nature of his villainous role.

The actor also commented on the recent trend of celebrated villain characters in his films, like Pushpa and Maamannan. Faasil added that it is usually the heroes who receive all the attention, while the antics of the villains are merely discussed, but never truly celebrated.

Pushpa 2: The Rule is the highly anticipated sequel to the 2021 action blockbuster, Pushpa. Directed by Sukumar, the film features an ensemble cast including Rashmika Mandanna, Jagapathi Babu, Prakash Raj, and Sunil in crucial roles.

The film's recently released teaser has already generated a lot of buzz, showcasing Allu Arjun's Pushpa Raj in all his might. Devi Sri Prasad's high-octane music is expected to be a major highlight of the film.

Pushpa 2: The Rule is slated to hit the screens on August 15th, 2023. Produced by Mythri Movie Makers, the film's cinematography is handled by Miroslaw Kuba Brozek, and Ruben is responsible for the editing.
