India’s top tennis player Sumit Nagal has suffered a major visa setback that threatens his participation in the Australian Open Asia-Pacific Wildcard Playoff scheduled to take place in Chengdu, China, later this month. The 27-year-old, currently ranked World No. 275, revealed that his Chinese visa application was rejected without explanation, leaving his travel plans and season schedule in jeopardy.

The event, set from November 24 to 29, 2025, offers players from the Asia-Pacific region a coveted entry into the 2026 Australian Open main draw.
