Two Youngest MLAs Who Won In Telangana Assembly Elections 2023

4 Dec, 2023 09:05 IST|Sandeep Athreya

Meet the two youngest MLAs of the Telangana Assembly. Mynampally Rohith and Hanumandla Yashaswini Reddy are the new entrants for the Assembly. Both are 26 years old. However, Yashaswini is a few months older than Mynampally Rohith.

In Medak, Mynampalli Rohit Rao defeated BRS Senior leader and former deputy speaker Padma Devendar Reddy. Yashaswini defeated 6-time MLA and incumbent minister Errabelli Dayakar Rao in the Palakurti Assembly constituency. Originally, Yashaswini's mother-in-law Jhansi Reddy was supposed to contest from the seat against Dayakar. However, Jhansi Reddy is an NRI and her application for Indian citizenship didn't go through on time. This led to Congress giving a ticket to 26-year-old Yashaswini against Dayakar Rao. Both these youngsters have defeated their experienced political rivals.

Lasya Nanditha, the daughter of former MLA Sayanna, won from the Cantonment constituency and thus became a first-time MLA. Additionally, Jayaveer Reddy, the son of senior Congress leader Jana Reddy, secured victory as an MLA from Nagarjunsagar.

Makkansingh Raj Tagore celebrated his first win as MLA in Ramagundam, Peddapally district. Adisrinivas, representing the Congress party in Vemulawada, emerged victorious.
