Hyderabad: In a first, the world’s first 3D-printed Hindu temple will come up in Telangana. The 3D-printed Hindu temple is being constructed in a gated villa at Burugupalli in Siddipet.

The city-based Apsuja Infratech has collaborated with Simpliforge Creations, a 3D-printed construction company to build this unique temple in a sprawling 3,800 square feet area. The religious place will have a three-part structure. The temple printing work has entered its phase II in which the Lotus and the gopurams are being constructed.

“The three sanctums, or garb has, within the structure represent a 'modak', dedicated to Lord Ganesha; a Shivalay, a square abode devoted to Lord Shankar; and a Lotus-shaped home for Goddess Parvati,” said Hari Krishna Jeedipalli, MD, Apsuja Infratech.

Earlier in March, Simpliforge Creations and Indian Institute of Technology, Hyderabad had demonstrated the advantage of 3D-printed construction technology over traditional construction methods by constructing India’s first prototype bridge in a little under two hours.

According to Dhruv Gandhi, CEO of Simpliforge Creations, the prototype bridge was assembled on site in Siddipet and after a rigorous testing process, it is now being used as a pedestrian bridge in the garden around the temple.

The 3D-printing of Lotus-shaped temple will prove to the world the edge that 3D-printing will offer to the construction industry when it comes to free-form structures, Gandhi added.
