Hyderabad: BRS working President KT Rama has sharply reacted to the critical remarks made by chief minister Revanth Reddy against the opposition BRS party in London. KTR asked why the Congress wanted to punish the BRS - is it because the KCR-led party succeeded in achieving a separate Telangana for the people or for developing the new state? He made these remarks during a BRS poll meeting for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
Addressing a meeting of Telangana NRI community in London, Reddy made some objectionable remarks against the BRS and its president KCR. He said Congress will “bury the BRS party” by defeating it in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. He claimed that the BRS leaders are arrogant despite the fact that their party is no longer in power in the state. Reddy invited the UK-based Telugu business leaders to invest in Telangana and participate in the state’s growth story.
Responding to Telangana chief minister’s remarks, KTR questioned the Congress leader’s newfound bonhomie with Adani Group. He said the ruling party was highly critical of India's leading business group until a few days ago and is now signing business agreements with it.
Reminding the ruling Congress party to implement its poll promises, KTR asked people to not to pay the electricity bills from January as the party came to power by promising to provide free electricity if voted to power. During election campaigning for the Telangana Assembly elections, the Congress party had promised to provide free electricity to all households that consume up to 200 units of power per month under the Gruha Lakshmi scheme. The BRS leader asked the people to send their power bills to Congress Parliamentary Party Chairperson Sonia Gandhi’s residence located at 10, Janpath in New Delhi.
