Hyderabad: Jubilee Hills police have apprehended a food delivery boy, Obedullah Khan, for allegedly sexually assaulting a young woman after luring her to a hotel under a false pretense.

According to the police, some eight months ago a 23-year-old food delivery boy named Obedullah Khan from Mallepally in Hyderabad, had delivered the food to a 22-year-old private employee, who was attending a seminar in Lakdi-ka-pul area of the city.

The victim had made the online payment through Google Pay (G Pay). Using the victim's contact number from GPay transaction, Khan initiated the communication with her. The victim, a resident of a private hostel in KPHB Colony, gradually developed a relationship with Khan.

On a fateful Thursday night, Khan convinced the victim to accompany him to an OYO room in Banjara Hills to discuss some matter. At around 1 am, he spiked her drink and sexually assaulted her while she was asleep.

The victim narrated the harrowing experience of sexual assault to Jubilee Hills police the following morning which led to Khan’s arrest. The accused has been charged under various sections of the Indian Penal Code, including 376, 354 (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty), 354(A). (D), 376, and 66 (E).
