Hyderabad: Residents of Hyderabad and parts of Telangana felt some respite from the scorching heat after heavy rains lashed the city and several other districts on Sunday evening.
Thick clouds had already started forming in the city this afternoon. The sudden showers lashed several areas, including Hi Tech city, Madhapur, Chanda Nagar, Alwal, Moosapet, Balapur, Jeedimetla, Narsingi, Patancheru, Nizampet and Neredmet in Hyderabad. The downpour caused water logging and sporadic disruptions in power supply in many parts of the city.

The rains also brought much needed respite from the sweltering heat for the residents of Sangareddy, Nizamabad, Medak, Siddipet, and Vikarabad districts. Due to heavy winds, power lines snapped in several areas in the state. The rains brought down the temperature by several degrees, providing much-needed relief to the people from the scorching heat.
However, the rains are expected to continue in the city and other parts of Telangana for the next few days. The Hyderabad Meteorological Centre has predicted that there is a possibility of thunderstorms in some parts of the state for the next couple of days.
