Four Non-COVID Medical Emergency Free Cab Services Launched In L B Nagar, Chottupal

HYDERABAD: With the ongoing night curfew imposed in the State, four cabs were launched for the LB Nagar zone & Chottupal Division at Bhongir zone in the Rachakonda Commissionerate limits today, for any non-COVID medical emergency faced by the citizens.

The cab services available from 9 pm to 5 pm in the night, was facilitated by Srinivasa Tours and Travel Agency from Vanasthalipuram.  The services will be available in LB Nagar, Vanasthalipuram, Chotupal and Ibrahimpatnam areas. 

Rachakonda CP Mahesh Bhagwat said the opportunity could be availed by senior citizens, pregnant women and women in need of emergency medical help.

He thanked the MD of the Agency Srinivas Rao for providing this much-needed free service during the night curfew time.

He recalled that a free cab service Alyte had been set up at Neredmet in Malkajigiri zone on behalf of Mahindra, free of cost.  

The other free of cost service provided were transport vehicles to relatives for those who died with COVID under the name of Last Ride Service by Feed The Needy organization. Both these facilities can be availed by calling the Rachakonda control room 9490617234. The same number can be contacted for those who want plasma also, Rachakonda CP reminded. 

The CP said the vaccine would be given to those over 18 years of age from May 1st and he urged all young people to donate blood before getting vaccinated to prevent blood shortage during emergencies.  He said that the Indian Red Cross will soon organise a  Blood Donation Camp at Rachakonda Commissionerate.

The CP said that 1,339 police personnel fell prey to COVID in the Rachakonda Commissionerate so far. This time more than 300 people were infected with the virus he said.

Bhagavath said that staff affected by COVID will be given a medical kit, dry fruits and Rs.5000 / - will be deposited in their account till they recover.  They will also be given medical support from doctors over video calls, he said.

MD Srinivas Rao said that as of now they were providing four vehicles, but were ready to press in more vehicles in the coming days as well.  The free cab facility was used by about 170 people last year, he said.
