Apple iOS 18.4 Out Now: Enhanced Photos, Audio Summaries, and AI Magic!

Apple has rolled out the iOS 18.4 update for iPhones, introducing key enhancements to the Photos app and expanding Apple Intelligence features to more regions, including India.

What’s New in the Photos App

The Photos app gets a significant update with new filter options and customization features:

• New Filters: Users can now filter photos by Shared with You (images shared by others) and Not in an Album.
• Sorting Option: A new “Sort by Date Modification” feature allows users to organize albums and folders by the most recently edited ones, alongside existing Name and Custom Order sorting.
• View Renaming: The “Grid” and “List” views are now renamed to Key Photo and List View respectively, though their functions remain unchanged.
• Privacy Controls: In addition to the Hidden album, users can now hide or show the Recently Viewed and Recently Shared albums for added privacy.
• Utility & Media Type Customization: A new Edit button lets users reorder Utility and Media Type collections.
• Apple Intelligence Comes to India

With iOS 18.4, Indian users with compatible iPhones can now access Apple Intelligence features, including:

• Writing Tools: Rewrite, summarise, and adjust tone in any app.
• Clean Up in Photos: Remove unwanted objects or people while preserving image quality.
• Smart Search & Memories: Search with natural language or create memory videos from text prompts.
• Genmoji & Image Playground: Create custom emojis and themed illustrations.
• Smarter Siri & Visual Intelligence: Enjoy a conversational Siri with the ability to identify objects and extract useful info from visuals.
• Audio Tools: Record, transcribe, and summarise phone calls and audio notes.
• Priority Messages & Notifications: Automatically highlights urgent emails and notifications.
• ChatGPT Integration: Siri and Writing Tools can access ChatGPT for expanded capabilities.

The update is now available for download on all compatible iPhones.
