The two-match series between New Zealand and Pakistan finished in a tie, making India's route to the World Test Championship 2023 final a bit easier. Pakistan and New Zealand are now officially out of contention for the WTC 2023 final.

Pakistan has completed all of its WTC matches. With 38.1 points, they are now sixth in the points table. New Zealand, on the other hand, is seventh with 27.27% of the points.

The Kiwis have one more series left, but even if they win 2-0 against Sri Lanka, they would only end with 38.46% of the points. The four teams with a genuine possibility of qualifying for the World Test Championship final are Australia, India, Sri Lanka, and South Africa. England has a chance as well, but their game is in the other teams' hands.

India is currently second in the rankings, with 58.93% points after 14 matches. They still have four home matches against Australia left, which will take place from February 9 to March 13.

India's qualification scenario for World Test Championship:

If India wins in Border Gavaskar Trophy: India Vs Australia Final.

If India wins at least three of their four Tests against Australia, they will qualify for the World Test Championship final. If India defeats Australia 2-0, they must pray that Sri Lanka does not win more than one game in their series against New Zealand.

If Australia wins BGT: Australia Vs South Africa Final.

If BGT is drawn by 2-2: India Vs Australia Final.
