
Virat Kohli has reportedly emerged as the highest-earning player in the history of the Indian Premier League. According to a report released by Fanatic Sports and Hurun, the Royal Challengers Bengaluru star has earned around ₹230 crore from the league since its launch in 2008.
The report highlighted Kohli’s long and successful association with Royal Challengers Bengaluru, making him one of the biggest names in IPL history both on and off the field.
Rohit Sharma and MS Dhoni Follow Closely
Former Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma secured the second position on the list with estimated IPL earnings of around ₹227.2 crore.
Meanwhile, former Chennai Super Kings skipper MS Dhoni was placed next with earnings close to ₹200 crore from the tournament.
IPL’s Massive Financial Growth
The report also underlined the enormous financial success of the IPL over the years. The combined valuation of all 10 IPL franchises has reportedly reached nearly ₹1.63 lakh crore.
Experts believe the league’s rising media rights value, sponsorship deals and global popularity have contributed significantly to this growth.
