T20 World Cup 2022: India Beats Netherlands By 56 Runs, Leads Points Table

The India team defeated the Netherlands by 56 runs in their second Super 12 Group 2 encounter of the T20 World Cup 2022 at the Sydney Cricket Ground. Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and Suryakumar Yadav hit the fifties, and the bowlers then bowled flawlessly to restrict the Netherlands to 123/9 in 20 overs.

Batting first, Virat Kohli and Suryakumar Yadav each hit a fifty as they put on an unbroken 95-run partnership off only 48 balls for the third wicket to help India reach 179/2. Kohli finished the match undefeated on 62 from 44 balls, his second successive half-century of the competition. Meanwhile, Suryakumar reached his half-century with a six off the penultimate ball of the innings. He had a perfect score of 51 out of 25. Earlier, Rohit seized the lead, smashing 53 runs off 39 balls. KL Rahul's poor form continued in this innings also. He scored nine runs off  12 balls.

In response, the Netherlands have failed to mount a challenge and are down to their final two wickets heading into the final four overs. Bhuvnewshwar Kumar bowled exceptionally well. He bowled 2 maidens, picked 2 wickets, and gave only 9 runs. Bhuvneshwar Kumar currently has the joint-highest number of maiden overs in T20I cricket (9) with Jasprit Bumrah. Ravichandran Ashwin and Axar Patel each grabbed two wickets.

With t20 wins against Pakistan and the Netherlands, India is leading the group 2 points table.
