PCB Chairman Ramiz Raja To Review Pakistan’s T20 World Cup Team

28 Sep, 2021 15:31 IST|Sakshi Post

Pakistan announced their team for the T20 World Cup earlier this month, with few surprises. There was no opportunity for daring batsman Fakhar Zaman, and veteran Shoaib Malik was also denied a spot in the reserves. Misbah-ul-Haq the head coach and Waqar Younis bowling coach, resigned from their positions hours after the squad was announced.

Several reports have surfaced about Babar Azam being dissatisfied with the team. However, all of those rumors were proved false. On the other hand, a few former Pakistan cricketers criticized the team's selection for the mega event.

Based on reports, Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan has asked the newly appointed PCB Chairman Ramiz Raja to re-evaluate the squad.

Azam Khan, Mohammad Hasnain, Khushdil Shah, and Mohammad Nawaz are all likely to be left out of the final T20 World Cup squad. Meanwhile, it has been revealed that Fakhar Zaman, Sharjeel Khan, Shoaib Malik, Shahnawaz Dahani, and Usman Qadir are being considered as possible replacements.

According to ICC rules, World Cup squads can be changed until October 10, after which teams must seek permission from the cricketing body in the event of an injury.
