IPL 2024 Opening Ceremony: A Star-Studded Extravaganza
The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 is all set to kick off with a grand opening ceremony that promises to be a dazzling fusion of cricket and entertainment. Scheduled to take place at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on March 22, the ceremony will be a star-studded affair featuring some of the biggest names in Bollywood and the music industry.
Renowned playback singers AR Rahman and Sonu Nigam will captivate the audience with their musical performances while Bollywood stars Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff will bring their dynamic energy to the stage. Swedish DJ Axwell is also set to electrify the opening ceremony ahead of the opening match between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). The opening ceremony will begin at 6.30 PM IST, subsequently, the CSK vs RCB clash will begin at 8 PM IST on Friday.

Aside from performances by entertainment stars, the IPL opening ceremony will also feature an 'Augmented Reality' show. IPL 2024 will be telecasted by Star Sports while fans can catch the digital action on JioCinema.
Looking at the head-to-head record between the two teams, the five-time champions CSK have emerged superior. The two teams have met 31 times in the IPL and CSK has won 20 matches while RCB has won 10 with a lone match producing no result. As per the record at Chepauk, CSK has had complete dominance over RCB on its home turf. In 8 matches, CSK has won seven while RCB has only won one. The stage is set for a thrilling opening clash on Friday.
