As expected the former Health Minister and Huzurabad MLA Etela Rajender resigned from his post as MLA and from the TRS membership. Speaking to the media after his tendering his resignation on Friday, he said that he was not just ending his relationship with the TRS but also his 19 years of association with the party.

In what was an open secret, he revealed that he lost affinity with the TRS chief K Chandrasekhara Rao over the past five years indicating the crack within the party since 2017. He also revealed that KCR's nephew T Harish Rao had borne insults from the KCR family just like how he did. Etela stated that it was not Pragathi Bhavan but ''Banisa Bhavan'' meaning a place of slavery. For the sake of his own family (KCR) they have suppressed people like us, he said.

He said that he was deeply pained by the developments in the party and was targeted for no reason. Etela said that every time he was given the B-form he had won from the Huzurabad constituency, whereas KCR's own daughter K Kavitha lost the elections.

Rajendar said that he was proud to have won based on the backdrop of the Telangana state map."I resigned whenever I was asked to and won from this place each time I contested again, he said proudly. We resigned out of self-respect for the Telangana Statehood and it may be recollected that in the past when 17 people quit from the Legislature, only seven won from the Assembly and I was one among them. The people of Karimnagar did not succumb to any form of temptations by the ruling party then and ensured our victory during the elections, he stated.
