'Karimnagar Most Wanted', streaming currently on the OTT platform, has provided the right platform for many young talents among both artists and technicians. The series is based on gang wars, local politics and more. Let's analyze the series in this section:

Story:

The story is set in Karimnagar, where Gani (Sai Surepalli) lives. He applies for a business loan that gets rejected. Upon being advised by a bank manager, he becomes a loan recovery agent along with his brother Tinku (Aman Surepalli), friends Bittu (Anirudh Tukuntla) and Satthi (Gopal Madaram).

This is when high-denomination notes are declared cancelled by the government. As part of the conversion of black money, multiple accounts are opened in the name of people who died during the Demonetization. The conversion results in unseen troubles. The police arrest Gani and his friends over laundering five crore rupees. Who put Gani and his friends in a fix? How did Gani, who has just returned from a prison, gone on to become a mafia leader? What is his rivalry with MLA Purushottam (Sreevarthan)? Answers to these questions are found as the story progresses.

Analysis:

Although it takes time for the show to take off, the character establishment is smartly done. The viewer is given some time to understand the motives of the four friends. The detailing is respectable.

From the urban landscape to the foreign backdrops, from the mafia to the gang wars, everything is reasonable and has a proper arc. The characters are local and their behaviour is rooted. They look real and never are seen as film characters who are a far cry from reality.

This is the first proper Telangana-based web series with rooted characters and colloquial language.

Performances :

The male lead, Sai Surepalli, is talented. He not only shows variation but also ensures that the performance is not overstated. Aman, Anirudh and Gopal acted well. Sreewardhan as MLA Purushottam is fine.

The director must be appreciated for ensuring that the performances from newcomers never feel out of the place. Shooting the whole series in Karimnagar also helped in ensuring remarkable authenticity.

Technical Departments:

'Balagam' writer Ramesh Eligeti and director Balaji Bhuvanagiri have succeeded in creating the right atmospherics, character arcs and dialogue. The characters are well designed. The work of Balaji Bhuvanagiri, who made the series by adding commercial elements without missing the backdrop of Karimnagar, speaks for itself. The production values are impressive.

Verdict:

'Karimnagar Most Wanted' delves into its characters, its world and its unique setting with conviction. The small-town backdrop is compelling. The language is authentic.
