Schools in Tamil Nadu’s Tirupattur district will remain closed today, November 6, following continuous rainfall since early morning. The District Collector announced a holiday for schools as a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of students.

According to weather department reports, heavy rainfall is expected to continue across several districts, including Ariyalur, Perambalur, Tiruchirapalli, Kallakurichi, and Tiruvannamalai, along with parts of Salem, Dharmapuri, Krishnagiri, and Tirupattur. These regions are likely to experience intense showers accompanied by thunder and lightning.

Meteorological officials have predicted that rainy conditions will persist until November 11 due to prevailing atmospheric systems over the interior parts of Tamil Nadu. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has also forecast that rainfall activity will gradually shift southwards, leading to heavy rain in Ramanathapuram, Sivaganga, Virudhunagar, Madurai, Theni, and Dindigul districts in the coming days.

Meanwhile, Chennai is expected to have cloudy skies with chances of light to moderate rain, but no heavy rainfall warning has been issued for the city.
