The Delhi Police arrested three men for allegedly throwing acid at a 17-year-old girl in the national capital this morning. The police had earlier detained one of the accused based on the survivor's statement.

The police have also recovered the bike that was used by the accused. The key accused, Sachin Arora, was in a relationship with the teen and attacked the girl after their break up three months ago, the police said. He ordered the acid online from Flipkart, they added.

Sachin planned the attack with the two others arrested in the case - Harshit and Virendra. Sachin rode pillion on the bike, sitting behind Harshit.

At the time of the attack, Virendra, the third accused, went to some other location with Sachin's mobile phone and his scooty so that an alibi can be created, the police said.

A chemical examination will be conducted on the acid to find how deadly it was.

The police were informed of an acid attack in Delhi’s Mohan Garden area around 9 am today. The girl was with her younger sister when two bike-borne men threw acid at her and fled.

The girl is currently undergoing treatment.
