Filmmaker Alfonso Cuaron Meets Indian Cinema Greats in Chennai
Mexican director Alfonso Cuaron made a surprise visit to Chennai recently. He met celebrated figures of Indian cinema at a gathering hosted by actor Kamal Haasan.
Present at the meeting were filmmaker Mani Ratnam, composer A.R. Rahman, and actors Siddharth and Aditi Rao Hydari. Kamal Haasan shared photos on Instagram showing the group discussing cinema over lunch. Cuaron is a highly acclaimed director. He has won five Academy Awards, including Best Director for Gravity (2013) and Roma (2018). His films span various genres.
Siddharth thanked Haasan for the "unforgettable experience" of meeting Cuaron. He jokingly referred to Cuaron meeting the famous Banganapalli mangoes. The actor who recently got engaged to Aditi Rao Hydari in a private ceremony took to Instagram to share a picture from their meeting and thanked Kamal Haasan.
For Kamal Haasan, his next project is Indian 2. It is the sequel to his iconic vigilante action film Indian directed by Shankar. Haasan reprises his role in fighting corruption.
Indian 2 faced delays due to COVID-19 and a fatal crane accident during the shooting. The cast includes Siddharth, Kalidas Jayaram, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Rakul Preet Singh, Kajal Aggarwal, S.J. Suryah, and Nedumudi Venu.
