Hanuman Jayanti 2025: Hyderabad Set for Shobha Yatra, Big Celebrations

The Hanuman Yatra, a grand procession to celebrate Hanuman Jayanti, will be held on April 12, a distance of 12.2 km from Sri Rama Mandir, Gowliguda to Tadbund Hanuman Temple, covering major junctions such as Narayanaguda, RTC X roads, Ashok Nagar, Kavadiguda, and Bible House. The procession is likely to attract sizeable crowds, and the authorities have made elaborate arrangements to hold the celebration in a smooth and safe manner.

Preparations Underway

The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) and traffic police have been putting in extra effort to make arrangements for the event. A meeting was conducted with top officials of Hyderabad, Cyberabad, and Rachakonda commissionerates, along with Vishwa Hindu Parishad, Bajrang Dal, and civic and emergency service department representatives. The meeting went over the logistics of the event and issued instructions to make the event peaceful and enjoyable.

Guidelines for the Procession

The authorities have also issued certain guidelines for the procession, such as a ban on the height of idols and the use of DJ systems. The idols should not be more than the clearance height of railway bridges, and organizers have been requested to employ large sound boxes without mixers to restrict noise pollution.

Traffic and Crowd Management

Traffic police have arranged to send a massive contingent of volunteers to regulate order along the route. Organisers have also been requested to provide advance figures of participants and vehicle numbers and also to train volunteer rope parties to manage crowds effectively. An inter-agency joint control room will be functional from 8 a.m. on the event day at the Integrated Command Control Centre (ICCC) in Banjara Hills, accommodating representatives from all the participating departments to coordinate and offer real-time support.

Precautions for Rainfall

India Meteorological Department has predicted probable rainfall during the day of the function, and authorities have already taken the precaution of preparing accordingly. Traffic police and the GHMC have been asked to initiate necessary action for safe proceedings for participants as well as for general people. 

A Grand Celebration

Hanuman Jayanti in Hyderabad is expected to be a grand celebration, with about 150 processions taking place in the city and another 46 from Cyberabad and Rachakonda areas merging into the main celebration. The celebration is a reflection of the cultural richness of the city and its tendency to unite and celebrate its traditions and practices.
