Hero Prashanth Karthi is super excited about his upcoming film Anantha which will hit the screens on June 9th. The actor has been seen in quite a lot of Telugu films and is playing the lead role in this science fiction thriller. Here is what he has to say about the film.

Can you tell us about your background and your journey in the film industry?
My father is a Civil Contractor and so am I. Acting has been my passion for quite a lot of time. Right since childhood. So that is how I got into films. I played a cop in Ram Charan's Dhruva and a pivotal role in Check. I played the role of RK in RGV's Konda movie and that one is a game-changer in my career.

How did you get to bag the chance to play the lead in Ananatha?
Director Madhu is someone who I know for a long time now. He also knows that I have done a good number of films. So he approached me with the good story which i liked. We immediately worked on it and started production.

What genre is this film and what about it interested you?
This film is a science fiction thriller. That is a genre I always loved. The concept, storyline and the backdrop are what impressed me the most when it comes to this story. Everything about the film was amazing for me. It is a concept that nobody in the field of cinema have explored till now.

What is the storyline about?
So this one is about time travel. I will be travelling across the places and there will be a group of professors who will be working on me and researching on what I am doing. They will find me crazy and even think I am mentally unstable at one point. The story revolves around these lines.

You could have tried commercial cinema. What made you choose a risky subject?
For an actor, it is important to do and try everything that comes their way. I don't find anything wrong in doing a subject like this. Commercial cinema has a long way to go and I will definitely do one in the future.

Did working with RGV change your career? How did it help?
Yes. Undoubtedly. I learnt quite a lot of technicalities from RGV sir and that made my work a lot easy I should say. When you work with him, and around him, we get to learn quite a lot of things.

In how many theaters are you releasing this film?
We are planning to release the film in almost 70 theaters. Also, except the theater expenses, I have decided to give away all the collections to the relief fund of the recent Odisha train accident victims and their family on behalf of the entire Telugu film industry.
