Sakshi Rating:

Hanu Man is one of the eagerly awaited films. The film is making strong noise as it slugs it out with Superstar Mahesh Babu's Guntur Kaaram. Let's check out our review.

Story

Set in a village Anjanadri, Hanumanth (Teja Sajja), a small thief, undergoes a transformation into a superhero after coming into possession of a powerful stone called Mani. Utilizing his newfound superpowers, he tries to save his village. Hanumanth is in love with Meenakshi (Amrita Aiyer) who aids him. However, the antagonist, Michael (Vinay Rai), wants to seize the Mani to exploit its powers for his own superhero endeavors. The film unfolds as a compelling battle between good (Hanumanth) and evil (Michael).

Analysis

Hanuman delivers a desi superhero film with a blend of devotion, entertainment, action, and emotion. It occasionally adds lighter vein humor. Top-notch visuals and a compelling background enhance the experience. Despite budget constraints, the VFX work is impressive.

Initially, the film takes time to set up the base, but once Hanumanth (Teja Sajja) and the village Anjanadri and its milieu are well established, it engages. Director Prasanth Varma shows his command over the craft, with sequences that provide a high impact. The interval is gripping. The action sequences are well placed, though some are gravity-defying and lack logic. They fit the bill. Teja Sajja pulls off the underdog role well, and his transformation to a superhero is convincingly projected.

The second half is where the film becomes predictable, with some unwanted drama marring the overall experience. The antagonist portion is weak and underwhelming. The villain track acts as a major shortcoming. However, the HanuMan factor takes center stage and is well maintained throughout the film, evoking devotion and emotion. The climax portion is enthralling. Last 30 minutes of the film hooks audiences to the screen.

The movie ends on a good note and sets the stage for the sequel (Jai Hanuman to be released in 2025). HanuMan caters to what it aims for, engaging kids and families during this Sankranthi season.

Verdict: HanuMan soars with a Desi superhero charm, blending devotion and action, though hindered by a predictable second half and a weak antagonist. It is enjoyable watch for kids and families this Sankranthi festival.
