Story:
Krish (Dev) is an aspiring filmmaker who is married to his 'maradalu' Radha (Priya Chouhan). In the process of achieving his dream, Krish comes across a young beauty named Mahi (Saritha). He enters into an extra-marital affair with Mahi. This leads to differences with Radha, who is deeply upset with her husband's disloyalty. The issues surrounding infidelity lead to domestic discord between Krish and his wife. When Krish tries his best to break up with Mahi so that he can make his wife happy, things take an unexpected turn. Mahi turns out to be adamant and doesn't want to be abandoned. What made Mahi meet Krish in the first place? Is there a conspiracy? That's what the second half is about.
Performances:
As Krish, Dev comes with ease. The comical treatment made it possible for him to be carefree with his body language and dialogue delivery. Priya and Saritha are good as Krish's wife and girlfriend, respectively. There is a certain romantic gaze and even their troubles have been showcased with a touch of humour. The two actresses enjoy the tone of the comedy and give their best.
Bunny, Shannu and Lucky are seen in guest roles.
Analysis:
Director Murali Ramaswaamy chooses to tell a topical story. Extra-marital affairs, infidelity, fatal attractions, and domestic friction are common in our society. Instead of pushing them under the rug, the film tries to explore them.
The phrase 'Deenamma Jeevitham' is usually used by frustrated youngsters. Fittingly, the film is about the frustrations of a male. The perspective of the story unfolds in such a way that Krish gets to voice his point of view more than others.
The flashback scenes in the second half are compelling. While being a fun-filled entertainer, the film doesn't forget to deliver its central message. Extra-marital affairs are about finding fleeting pleasure outside the confines of the home. Some bold scenes are reminiscent of the unapologetic tone of the recent 'Animal'.
The music by RS and the lyrics by Suresh Gangula are good. Johnny Basha's editing and Satesh Kare's cinematography are effective.
Verdict:
Deenamma Jeevitham is a comedy entertainer involving a husband, wife and a girlfriend.
