Former U.S. President Barack Obama shared his favorite films, books, and music of 2024 on the social media platform X. Leading his film list was All We Imagine as Light, an acclaimed Indian film directed by Payal Kapadia. The movie has attracted significant attention worldwide, especially following Obama's mention. Along with All We Imagine as Light, Obama also highlighted other films such as Conclave, The Piano Lesson, The Promised Land, The Seed of the Sacred Fig, Dune: Part 2, Anora, Didi, Sugar Cane, and A Complete Unknown.

In music, Obama connected with albums like Lunch, Yayo, Jump, Favorite, Active, and Gold Coast throughout the year. He also recommended several thought-provoking books, including The Anxious Generation, Stolen Pride, Growth, Orbital, and The Work of Art.

The attention on All We Imagine as Light has significantly amplified its global recognition. The film, which tells the story of two nurses from Kerala working at a nursing home in Mumbai, has captivated both audiences and critics. Featuring performances by Kanika Shruti, Divya Prabha, and Chaya Kadam, the movie earned the prestigious Grand Prix Award at the Cannes Film Festival, marking the first Indian film in three decades to win such an honor.
