HYBE’s New Boy Band - Boynextdoor

HYBE, the K-pop powerhouse behind BTS and the team behind Boynextdoor, debuted the new boy group on Tuesday to considerable media interest.

It is the first boy group from Hybe since ENHYPEN in 2020, for almost two and a half years.

When the group's first album "Who!" was being showcased to the media in Seoul, member Jaehyun commented, "I'm very thrilled to finally come to make a debut." "We'll always stay with the people and the fans."

"I think it's important to show you what I've been working on as a trainee for a very long time," Taesan stated. "We'll showcase our special charm for you."

According to the band, the group aspires to be a group singing about the day-to-day experiences of their peers.

"We are a band that really shares tales from our everyday lives through our unique music, which is more suited for peace than splendour," says Sungho.

Boynextdoor is the first boy group to be launched by KOZ Entertainment, HYBE's sub-label that was founded in 2019 by rapper-producer Zico. It has six members: Sungho, Riwoo, Jaehyun, Taesan, Leehan, and Woonhak.

Taesan clarified that the producers' admiration for the diverse musical tastes of each group member was reflected in the first album's emphasis on easy listening.

He stated that the band's music mixes a comfortable tone with lots of engaging choreographic elements.

Three songs from the album "Who!"—"But I Like You," "One and Only," and "Serenade"—were all presented as lead tracks.

Taesan described the intricate intertwining of the songs' individual narratives—in which the males experience love, dress up, and confess their feelings—as justification for the band's unique decision. He said, "I hoped listeners would interact with the album by losing themselves in the narrative.

Due to the band's initial recognition as the first act from their company, there were many inquiries regarding Zico as a producer during the media showcase.

According to Taesan, the producer has always underlined the value of maintaining "individuality" within the band.

At the end of the press conference, he stated that he wanted the band to be unique, exactly as the second song's title, "One and Only."

"We also hope that when people look back on this time period, they will remember our music. We want to be a group that they refer to as "youth."
