APPSC Group-I Services Mains Exams Begins Across Andhra

Vijayawada: Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) Group-I Services Main Exams commenced on Saturday. As many as 6,455 candidates, who have cleared the prelims, are appearing for Mains exams today.

A total of 290 physically challenged candidates are writing the Group-I Services exams. The officials have arranged scribes to write exams on their behalf. The candidates were allowed between 8.30 am to 9.30 am while the exam timings are 10 am to 1 pm. The authorities have established 11 exam centres across 10 districts in the state. The Group-I Services Main Exams will conclude on June 10. This time Group-I Services are being held offline. 

APPSC Gautam Sawang along with APPSC Secretary J Pradeep Kumar inspected the examination centres and instructed the invigilators to ensure no mass copying takes place during the exams. Sawang said the exam centres are under electronic surveillance and the officials are closely watching the CCTV cameras of all the centres. 

The APPSC official informed that the recruitment board is using the face-recognition technology to allow the Group-I Services candidates inside the exam hall. The officials have installed 70 biometric machines at the exam centres in the state.
