Yuzvendra Chahal's performance in this recent match will be remembered as one of the best in Punjab Kings' history. After failing to bat well in the first innings, Punjab Kings only managed to give KKR a score of 112 to chase down.
Everyone thought the match would be over in no time and Kolkata, just like they did last time against Chennai Super Kings, would comfortably chase it. But Yuzvendra Chahal had other plans. He has proved once again that he is the IPL's highest wicket-taking bowler for a reason.
He came at a time when things looked impossible for Punjab to bounce back from. KKR skipper Ajinkya Rahane and Angkrisha Raghuvanshi were spearheading the chase before the collapse began. Chahal, with his tricky wrist spin, got Rahane out LBW, and wickets started crumbling for KKR after that. For just 6 runs, they lost the next 5 wickets, and Chahal grabbed 4 of them.
Even with Russell on the other side, KKR batsmen failed to support him. If they could have managed to stitch together one decent partnership, KKR would have won the match, but Chahal turned it around for PBKS in style.
Yuzvendra's remarkable comeback left one of his closest friends, RJ Mahvash, unable to remain composed. Following their divorce from Dhanashree, RJ Mahvash and Chahal are rumoured to be dating. Mahvash was also seen supporting Yuzi from the stands multiple times.
Even in the ongoing IPL, RJ attended a couple of matches but couldn't make it to New Chandigarh. But she made sure that her presence was felt by sending a heartwarming message celebrating her rumoured boyfriend's magnificent outing with the ball.
Mahvash wrote, "What a talented man. He is the IPL's highest wicket-taker for a reason. Asambhav!!!!," on her Instagram stories, rejoicing in Chahal's superb outing with the ball.
There have been fan clubs created for RJ Mahvash and Yuzvendra Chahal owing to their chemistry, and even though none of them confirmed the relationship, it's evident to fans that both Mahvash and Chahal have a special bond.
Coming to the match, Yuzvendra Chahal managed to grab four wickets for 28 runs at an economy of 7, and this win puts the Punjab Kings in a solid position of No. 4 in the points table. KKR, on the other hand, are in sixth place with just 3 wins from their seven matches.
