RCB for Sale: Owner Denies Baseless Rumors; Fans Erupt in Delight

United Spirits Ltd. denied reports of a potential stake sale in the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) team amid growing speculation of parent company Diageo being willing to sell the team and looking for potential buyers with an estimated valuation of $2 billion.

"The company would like to clarify that the aforesaid media reports are speculative in nature, and it is not pursuing any such discussions," the liquor maker said in a stock exchange filing.

The rumors reportedly started circulating when Diageo's owner started exploring potential ways of partnering after RCB's gigantic title win in the IPL. Reports started doing the rounds in the wake of the horrendous stampede at Chinnaswamy Stadium that took the lives of 11 people and injured more than 50. It was a serious mismanagement from not just RCB but from the government, the police, and KSCA. Everybody involved in organizing the parade that quickly is being called out by the public. 

There were initial reports of the team not having any victory parade owing to the traffic congestion that might erupt, but things quickly changed, and RCB declared on their social media team that the parade will, in fact, continue. This decision by them was the start of a terrible mishap that will forever be remembered by every cricket fan in India. What should have been a joyous occasion ended up being a disaster, and the families who lost their lives will not get their loved ones back. This should be a stark reminder to fans and organizers not to plan such large public gatherings without proper planning.
