Making promises to gain power is a common tactic for TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu. During the 2014 assembly elections, he made 650 poll promises to voters. However, after coming to power, he forgot all these promises. As the election season approaches again, the opposition party has come up with another set of electoral promises to attract voters. This time, Naidu has promised "a new vision for Andhra Pradesh with Super Six guarantees."

More than one lakh farmers in the undivided East Godavari district take loans amounting to Rs 3,290 crore annually from cooperative and commercial banks. In the 2014 elections, Naidu promised to waive loans up to Rs 1 lakh. In the end, the TDP government only provided a meager Rs 25,000 leaving the farmers in huge debt. The farmers have said they will no longer believe the hollow promises of the TDP leader now.

In the run-up to the 2014 elections, Naidu had promised to waive loans of women's self-help groups but deceived them. Nearly 10,71,078 women from 1,10,336 Self Help Groups (SHGs) across the undivided district were delighted that their loans would be waived off.

The party had announced that each DWCRA woman would be given Rs 10,000 in three installments (Rs 2,500, Rs 3,500, and Rs 4,000). Only Rs 2,500 and Rs 3,500 were deposited in the banks. The remaining Rs 4,000 installment was to be given in the form of cheques and exchanged by the end of April. However, the cheques became invalid after the announcement of the 2019 election notification. The women had to discard the cheques like scrap paper. The TDP leader cheated DWCRA women by assuring them to write off their loans amounting to Rs 14,200 crore.

During the 2014 elections, Naidu made several unfulfilled promises, such as waiving farm loans, providing a job to every household, financial assistance to unemployed youth, and others. He also broke promises of reservation for the Kapu community and the construction of Hajj houses in major cities for Muslims.

Naidu's latest four-page vision document promising Super Six guarantees has failed to impress the electorate. The voters have made up their minds to teach a lesson to the TDP-JanaSena-BJP combine. They have expressed their support for the YSRCP regime, which has fulfilled over 99 percent of its poll promises made in the party manifesto during the last elections.
