R5 Zone: CM YS Jagan to Handover House Site Pattas to Over 50,000 Poor Families Tomorrow
Amaravati: Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy will disburse house site pattas to a staggering 51,392 poor families in the R5 Zone in Amaravati on Friday, May 25, 2023. The house sites are spread over a land of 1,402 acres which is available with the Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority (APCRDA).
The Chief Minister would also hand over 5,024 Andhra Pradesh Township and Infrastructure Development Corporation (APTIDCO) houses built at a cost of Rs 443.71 crore to the beneficaries in a public programme being held at Thullur village of Venkatapalem mandal in Guntur district on Friday. Recently, the Supreme Court refused to stay the distribution of house site pattas to the beneficiaries from the Economically Weaker Section (EWS). The Amaravati farmers had moved the top court against the state government’s decision to handover land pattas to poor families in the R5 Zone.
The state government has developed a total of 25 layouts under Navaratnalu-housing for poor scheme. A total of 25 layouts have been readied for the distribution of house plots for the poor, among which beneficiaries from the Guntur district will be given house plots in 11 layouts while the poor families from the NTR district would get land pattas in 14 layouts.

The ruling YSRCP government is giving houses measuring 300 sq. ft. to the beneficiaries for just one rupee. The construction of TIDCO houses was completely sidelined during the TDP regime. The beneficiaries of 300 square feet of houses had to pay a loan of Rs. 2.65 lakhs. It is a loan of Rs. 7.20 lakhs with interest for 20 years.
