Vijayawada: TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu has not become a chief minister yet, however, he’s shown a glimpse of what his government would be like if his party is elected to power in Andhra Pradesh, the state govt advisor and YSRCP general secretary Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy said on Thursday.

Speaking to reporters in Vijayawada, Sajjala said the key opposition leader is hell bent on destroying the village and ward volunteer system which is providing the welfare benefits to the beneficiaries to their doorstep.

He remarked that Naidu’s sole agenda is to deceive and loot the people and he cannot even dream of such a decentralised government system which is extending benefits to the marginalised sections of society in the most efficient and transparent manner.

Sajjala added that the destitute pensioners are angry with the opposition leader for obstructing their pension in the name of a model code of conduct. He further said people have realised that Naidu is anti-poor and anti-welfare programmes and therefore they will teach him a lesson in the upcoming May 13 polls.

Earlier, chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy had criticised Naidu for asking his aides to lodge a complaint with the Election Commission to disrupt the delivery of pensions at the doorsteps of the beneficiaries. He added that people have seen how low Naidu stooped to settle the political scores with the ruling party.
