TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu has a huge following among the BJP national leaders. Discussing the political awareness of Naidu, Sunil Deodhar, BJP leader and former party's affairs incharge in Andhra Pradesh, once compared him with the legendary Kattappa in political maneuvering.

Not only in cinema, you will find ‘Baahubali’ in politics too. Likewise, you’ll notice ‘Kattappas’ too. No matter how many times, the TDP friendly media praised Naidu for his political acumen but they refrained from calling him Baahubali of politics. This is because they know that such a moniker is not suitable for Naidu. The TDP did have a ‘Baahubali’ in NTR, the party founder, who shattered the Congress party's monopoly during the 1980s,

Due to TDP’s alliance with the NDA, the BJP leaders are very well familiar with Naidu and his political strategies. Sunil Deodhar, who has closely watched the political maneuvering of the TDP leader, earlier said if Janmabhoomi committee members were thieves then Naidu is a ‘chief thief’ (gaja donga). He said no other Kattappa can beat Naidu in deception. He said not just NTR, the prime minister Narendra Modi too trusted the TDP leader. However, after winning the elections, he betrayed everyone including the voters.

Deodhar further stated that it was Naidu who destroyed the Amaravati region and shattered the hopes of the farmers there. .Two years ago, when the media inquired whether Naidu would be invited to rejoin the NDA alliance, Deodhar responded like this, "There is no place for Chandrababu Naidu in the NDA. There is no question of accepting such a fraudulent person in the alliance again."

With an eye on upcoming elections in Andhra Pradesh, the BJP has taken a U-turn and once again trusting the TDP leader by forming an alliance with Naidu’s party.
