Narasapuram K Raghu Ramakrishna Raju was in for a rude shock when the BJP-TDP-Janasena alliance chose to deny him the Lok Sabha ticket to contest the May 13 elections in Andhra Pradesh.

He cried foul after the opposition alliance snubbed him. He was preparing to contest the upcoming elections on a BJP ticket from Narasapuram constituency.

Reacting to the major development, Raghu Ramakrishna Raju alleged that chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy urged the saffron party to reject his candidature. The Lok Sabha member’s wild allegation has angered the BJP leadership. The saffron party leaders have said how the leader of the ruling YSRCP party can influence their decision.

Raghu Ramakrishna Raju, who had won the Narasapuram Lok Sabha seat on the YSRCP ticket in 2019 general elections, had raised the banner of revolt in 2020 against the party leadership. Subsequently, the YSRCP had submitted a disqualification petition against him to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla.

In February, he resigned from the primary membership of the party and hoped the TDP or BJP would give him a chance to contest the upcoming elections. As part of the seat-sharing agreement, the TDP allocated the Narasapuram Lok Sabha seat to the BJP ally and the saffron party has said Srinivasa Varma is contesting the elections from Narasapuram parliamentary constituency.
