AP Human Rights Commission Office Inaugurated In Kurnool

The office of the Andhra Pradesh State Human Rights Commission (SHRC) in Kurnool was inaugurated on Wednesday by its chairperson, retired High Court judge Justice M Seetharama Murti.

Speaking to the media after the inauguration, he spoke to the media, the chairman thanked  Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and the ministers for setting up the Human Rights Commission here at Kurnool.

Due to time constraints, a temporary office has been set up at the Kurnool State Guest House, he explained. The chairman said that due to the COVID situation and keeping in mind the third wave, they would receive complaints only through the online method, he said.

The AP SHRC comprises of the Chairperson Justice Mandhata Seetharama Murti, Judicial Member Dande Subramanyam, and Non-Judicial member Dr. Gochipata Srinivasa Rao.

The AP High Court in its orders last week stated that it was the State government’s prerogative to set up the APHRC in any place in the State following which the State government on Friday has issued orders for the setting up of the APHRC in Kurnool. It issued a notification designating Kurnool as the headquarters for the Human Rights Commission.
