AP Govt Approves Salary Hike For Village/Ward Secretariats Employees

The Andhra Pradesh Government has initiated steps for increasing the wages for the Village and Ward Secretariat employees in the State as per the new PRC pay scale from the month of July. AP Finance Secretary KVV Satyanarayana issued orders to this effect on Monday (July 25).

The hiked wages would be given to the workers, who have finished probation under the new Pay Revision Commission (PRC) pay scale from the month of July.  The wages would include Dearness Allowance (DA,) House Rent Allowance (HRA) and other allowances along with the pay scale. 

In regard to the announcement, the State Finance Department has created new accounts (heads) and made additional budget allocations for the rise in wages of the employees. The AP Finance Department released additional funds of Rs. 768.60 crores earmarked for the salaries of Village Secretariat employees.  For the financial year 2022, the Government had already released Rs. 1,995 crores and with the newly released funds, the total amount disbursed for the Village and Ward secretariat employees would be Rs. 2,763.60 crores.

K Venkatami Reddy, the President of AP Village and Ward Secretariat Employees’ Association, expressed his gratitude to Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy for issuing orders to pay revised salaries to the employees of the secretariats as per his promise. He also highlighted how the State Finance Ministry drafted the proposal and hiked salaries on a Sunday, which was a holiday, and forwarded the same within 24 hours, by the 25th of July.

He said that the GO for increased salaries of the employees of the ward secretariats will also be released separately. He assured that employees declared on probation should not worry as they will get salaries as per the pay scale. Village and Ward Secretariat Employees Association State President Bhimreddy Anjan Reddy, General Secretary Bathula Ankamma Rao, State Additional Chief Secretary B.R.R. Kishore, Working Presidents Vipparthi Nikhil Krishna, Bhargav Suthej expressed gratitude to the Chief Minister in a statement released on Tuesday. State President of Village and Ward Secretariat Employees Federation MD Jani Pasha  also thanked CM YS Jagan for the revised pay scale.
