Differences Crop Up Between TDP and Jana Sena Once Again

Anakapalli: Turbulence is in store for TDP-Jana Sena combine as the differences between the alliance partners continue to crop up over the sharing of seats for the ensuing Assembly elections in Andhra Pradesh.

Restlessness is growing among the party cadre of Jana Sena over the “high handedness” of the TDP in matters related to allocation of seats to Pawan Kalyan-led Jana Sena. After the ruckus over the ‘unilateral announcement’ of candidates for Araku and Mandapeta constituencies by the TDP leadership, the Jana Sena members have demanded that the Payakaraopeta seat, which is a Scheduled Caste reserved constituency, should be given to Jana Sena.

Following the uneasiness among the party’s rank and file, Jana Sena leader and Pawan Kalyan’s elder brother Nagababu held a meeting with the local leaders in Payakaraopeta constituency on Wednesday. During the meeting, a party leader said the Jana Sena cadre extended its full support to the TDP candidate Vangalapudi Anita in 2019 Assembly elections but later she ignored them and added that if Jana Sena party leader does not get nomination from Payakaraopeta segment then the party’s cadre will not support the TDP’s candidate.

Jana Sainiks had supported and ensured the victory of Anita during the 2014 Assembly elections. Instead of acknowledging their help, she reportedly threatened to file false cases against them. The party supporters have made their stance clear that they are not ready to campaign for Anita if the TDP-Jana Sena alliance declares her as its candidate. Jana Sena leadership is facing the anger of party’s cadres from different places, however, Pawan Kalyan appears to be playing down the worsening situation.
