Visakhapatnam: Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy would sound the poll bugle from North Andhra for the ensuing Lok Sabha and State Assembly elections later this month. The ruling YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) is leaving no stone unturned to achieve its goal of Why Not 175 – to win all 175 assembly constituencies in the upcoming Assembly elections.

CM YS Jagan will address a massive public meeting at Bheemili on January 25 before kickstarting the ruling party’s election campaign in the state. The Ministers and MLAs of six districts from north Andhra held a crucial meeting with the key leaders of the region on Thursday in connection with the chief minister’s programme.

Briefing the media about the party’s election campaign, minister Botsa Satyanarayana said that the Chief Minister YS Jagan’s Bheemili public meeting will give direction to the party leaders and workers for the upcoming elections. He said nearly 6,000 workers from every constituency are being mobilised for the public meeting.

Elaborating on the party’s election strategy, Botsa said the state will be divided into five zones and party cadre meetings will be held under the chairmanship of CM Jagan. He said the chief minister will hold preparatory meetings with the party's workers during the election campaign. He also said that the chief minister will have the final say in the selection of party candidates for the upcoming General and Assembly elections.
