Vijayawada: Popular Telugu comedian of Jabardasth fame Punch Prasad is reportedly in critical condition. The comedian, who once entertained the audience with his funny comic lines and spontaneous punches, is suffering from kidney problems and regularly undergoing dialysis.

Recently, a fellow comedian Nookaraju took to social media and sought donations from people for the treatment of Prasad. He also posted a video appeal to donors on a YouTube channel. He said Prasad needs immediate renal transplantation.

Later, one user tagged Dr Hari Krishna on Twitter who is the Special Secretary to Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and requested him to extend monetary assistance to the family of the comedian.

Dr Hari Krishna, who regularly resolves health-related grievances of the public via Twitter, responded to the user and said the officials of the health department have contacted the family of Prasad. He further wrote the officials are ‘guiding them in the Letter of Credit application process’. Dr Hari Krishna informed the Twitter user that the comedian will get the required help under Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF) for his renal transplantation surgery.
