AP CM YS Jagan Felicitates Shuttler Kidambi Srikanth, Deaflympics Tennis Player Sheikh Jafreen

AMARAVATI: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan felicitated Indian shuttler Kidambi Srikanth & Indian Deaflympics tennis player Sheikh Jafreen at the Secretariat in Tadepalli on Friday.

CM YS Jagan lauded Kidambi Srikanth for playing a key role in the Indian Badminton team’s win in the prestigious Thomas Cup in Bangkok. He also praised the efforts of tennis player Sheikh Jafreen who hails from the Kurnool district for winning the bronze medal at the Deaflympics held in Brazil last month. He praised her for putting  Andhra Pradesh on the global map.

The Chief Minister directed officials to offer Sheikh Zafreen a government job based on her eligibility and also present a cash incentive given to Andhra players who have excelled in sports in the international segments.

The Chief Minister also directed CMO officials to make available all the facilities and arrangements they need on behalf of the government. He also assured both of them that all support and encouragement and that they should continue to strive hard to bring more laurels to the state of Andhra Pradesh, he said.

AP Badminton Association President Mukkala Dwarkanath presented a badminton kit to the Chief Minister on behalf of the Association on the occasion.

Present on the occasion were Tourism and Sports Minister RK Roja, SAAP Chairman Byreddy Siddharth Reddy, Srikanth's parents Radhamukunda, KVS Krishna, Sheikh Zafreen's father Sheikh Zakir Ahmed, SAAP Sports officer June Galliot and other sports officials.
