Hyderabad: The month of Ramzan is considered as the holiest month in the Islamic calendar. Ramadan celebrates the moment in which the Quran was revealed to the Prophet Muhammad, in accordance with Islamic belief. Across the world, Muslims fast each day for the entire month of Ramadan, abstaining from food and drink from dawn to dusk.
The Ramadan fast begins with a pre-dawn meal called "suhoor" to prepare hungry stomachs for the long day ahead. A typical suhoor often includes bread, vegetables, fruits, yogurt, tea, as well as lentils and beans. At sunset, when it's time to mark the end of the daylong fast, families and friends gather for an evening meal known as "iftar".
The Arabic phrase Ramadan Kareem means to enjoy a blessed and happy Ramadan.
Celebrities have taken to Twitter to wish their followers on Ramadan. Have a look:

It’s the time to gather with family & friends for Iftars, but while doing so let’s not forget those 821 million who do not get enough food to eat daily. This #Ramadan, I call on all to share meals, help others & reduce food waste. #GlobalGoals
