Hyderabad: Osmania University students staged a protest against the Telangana government's call for police recruitment and demanded that the age limit for the candidates should be increased. The protest was supported by Telangana Students and Unemployed Joint Action Committee (TSUJAC). As part of the protest, the student held a huge rally from OU Library to Gun Park and later conducted ratha roko near Gun Park.

The students demanded that the state government increase the age limit by at least six years in yesterday's notification for police recruitment. TSUJAC President K Manavata Roy said apart from age limit, the English medium merit system was affecting Telugu medium students and demanded that the state government should immediately stop it. He said if the Telangana government did not increase the age limit, they would take up protests all over the state. He warned that the unemployed will bring down the TRS government in the next elections. Later the protesting JAC leaders were arrested by the police.
