Hyderabad: Senior Telugu Desam Party (TDP) Leader from Telangana, Motkupalli Narasimhulu turned emotional today when he went to NTR Ghat to pay his respects to the founder on his birth anniversary. He sharply criticised party President N Chandrababu Naidu thereafter. He accused TDP Chief of betraying NTR and taking over the reins of the party.
Motkupalli said that NTR was a great human being and it was because of him that many people like him had found a place in politics. "Chandrababu stole the TDP flag from NTR and he was responsible for NTR's death," he said. Today, the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister was planning to upstage Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao. Unfortunately for Chandrababu, he was caught red-handed in the infamous notes for vote case with his conversation caught on audio tapes.
He said both Revanth Reddy and Chandrababu were involved in the notes for vote case. He pointed out that the TDP chief would go to any extent for his personal benefit and said that Chandrababu created a rift between the Malas and Madigas among SCs the same way he was trying to divide the BCs and Kapus. "Now he is playing the same card on the Brahmin community. Chandrababu is a big threat to democracy," he asserted.
The TDP leader said that Chandrababu had been changing his stance with regard to Special Category Status to AP and was not ashamed of it. People are fed up with his misdeeds and lies, and are ready to teach him a lesson in next elections, he said. "AP CM had promised me Governor post or at least a Rajya Sabha seat. But he finally sold the Rajya Sabha seat for Rs 100 crores."
He cited the example of YSRCP President YS Jagan Mohan Reddy saying the latter had promised to rename Krishna district after NTR.
Motkupalli said that Chandrababu was crafty enough to cut off NTR family from TDP. He demanded that Chandrababu resign from the party President's post and hand it over to members of the NTR family.
Motkupalli's statements on NTR's birthday had become a hotly debated topic at the ongoing Mahanadu in Vijayawada. A rattled Chandrababu reacted to Motkupalli's statements. The TDP Chief got Sattupalli MLA Sandra Venkata Veeraiah to reprimand Motkupalli. Sandra said that he (Motkupalli) was free to leave the party and join TRS. But Sattupalli had no answer when media questioned if the party was planning to take action against Motkupalli for his derogatory comments against Chandrababu.
