
Hyderabad: The Prohibition and Excise Department has decided to hike the prices of all beer brands by Rs 10. The new rates will come into effect immediately. It is learnt that the price rise of beer will be able to add to the government exchequer Rs 30 crores per month.
The government has instructed all the wine shop owners to display the price list with old and new MRPs . Excise Principal Secretary Somesh Kumar said that the new rates in the state were less than that of Karnataka and Maharastra and same as Andhra Pradesh. He also observed that the last revision of the price was done in 2015.
According to a circular issued by the department, the TSBCL Managing Director had already instructed all chief managers and managers of IMFL depots to make arrangements for storing the stocks dispatched on or after May 22, 2018, in separate lots and not to mix them up with the existing lots. The stock of a particular brand received with the new MRP rates shall be delivered only after exhausting the stock of that particular brand having old MRPs.
