Sharwanand and Lavanya in a still from Radha

Movie: Radha

Genre: Romantic Drama

Cast: Sharwanand, Lavanya Tripathi, Aksha Pardasany

Director : Chandra Mohan

Music Director : Radhan

Producer : Bhogavalli Bapineedu

Actor Sharwanand has been in a purple patch with the commercial success of his last few films. The actor has come up again with comedy entertainer 'Radha.' This is also the directorial debut film for Chandra Mohan. How did the film do? Let's wait and see.

Story:

Radha Krishna (Sharwanand) is a staunch devotee of Lord Krishna and has a blind faith that the Lord always guides him. His childhood dream is to become a police officer and he becomes one after he grows into a youth. He wins laurels due to his earnestness and duty oriented attitude. He falls in love with a girl named Radha (Lavanya Tripathi) during his posting at Barsanapalle in Warangal. The actress too is smitten by actor's honesty and sincerity and eventually falls for him. However, creating a gap between the love birds, fate transfers him to Dhoolpet where a face-off between two factions occur. How he comes out with flying colours and wins his lady.

Performance:

Sharwanand has given an effortless performance and carried off his role quite well. Actress Lavanya also played her part well, but the chemistry between the duo failed to crackle and sparkle. Kota Srinivas Raoa and Ravi Kishan nailed their role and were successful in bringing the negative shades on-screen. Shakalaka Shankar's one-liners were apt enough for the audience to laugh their guts out.

Technical:

The production values are decent but Chandra Mohan, who wielded the megaphone for the first time, failed to make his script immersive enough. He dabbled in a routine script and failed to come up with a novel stuff. Though first half is decent, second half is slow in narration.

Verdict:

You can watch this movie for Sharwananad's timing and Lavanaya's comic touch. The film is an essentially a commercial one.
