More to rename YSR Horticulture Univ: Ruckus in WG ZP meet

Eluru: West Godavari zilla parishad meeting witnessed unruly scenes and heated wordy duel when the TDP members tried to pass a resolution demanding that the name of YSR Horticulture University in Tadepalligudem be changed.

When the TDP members tried to pass a resolution, DDC chairperson Venkataratnam tried to object. However, TDP MLAs Chintamaneni Prabhakar and K S Jawahar shouted him down saying majority was on their side.

Venkataratnam told the house that late YS Rajasekhara Reddy had worked hard to bring the horticulture university to West Godavari district and that the dreams were realised during YSR regime. He said it was wrong to rename the institution just because the dispensation has changed.
