Chittoor: The investigation into the murder of the Chittoor mayor couple has revealed more interesting facts about the victims and their nephew who murdered them. It is learnt that the mayor had personally called up her nephew to invite him to her daughter's 'Srimantham' in November.

Apart from interrogating the surrendered accomplices to the murder, the police have also been interviewing other relatives of the deceased mayor couple in Chittoor. These interviews have brought to light certain new facts on the relationship between the estranged nephew and the aunt and uncle that he murdered.

Putting aside family differences, Mayor Anuradha had reportedly telephoned her nephew and invited him to the 'srimantham' of her daughter Hemalatha (wife of Katari Praveen) that was planned for November 1st. Before he hung up the phone Chinto reportedly threatened her that if he did turn up for the function then she had better take care of her husband. The couple however did not take this threat seriously.

Chinto paid off his accomplices well in advance
Chinto's surrendered accomplices has revealed to the police that he had paid them hefty monies six months in advance. Chinto had distributed about 50 lakh rupess among his accomplices for the murder of the mayor couple. He paid 10 lakh to Jayaprakash who was a man of meager income; 13 lakhs to Manjunath who has a stone cutter by profession and 18 lakhs to Venkatachalam who was earlier spurned by Katari Mohan.
