* Jagan unveils 3-month protest programme

YSRCP chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on Tuesday made a strong appeal to the people to join the party's massive state-wide dharnas at all mandal headquarters to protest against the failure of the Chandrababu Naidu government for its failure to implement its election eve promise of crop and DWCRA loan waiver.
At a media conference at the party office on Tuesday, YS Jagan unveiled a three-month long protest programmes. He would also sit on two-day hunger strike for two day starting from January 6 in the Godavari districts if the government fails to waive the loans. As part of the programme, On December 5, protests would be organised at all district collectorates.
"Chandrababu should question himself as to how many of the assurances that he had given were fulfiled till date. Chandrababu had assured that he would affix his first signature on the file pertaining to the crop loan waiver. He assured to waive SHG loans," he pointed out.
He further pointed out that the farmers did not repay their loans believing that Chandrababu would waive them off. Now, the farmers are forced to pay Rs 28000 crore towards penalty for non-payment and interest for this year, Jagan said. The government has only allocated Rs 5000 crore this year for loan waiver. "This is nothing but treachery," he pointed out.
The Hudhud-hit farmers are unable to get insurance cover as they have not re-paid loans believing that Chandrababu would waive off the loans. This situation has arisen only due to Chandrababu's folly, he said. He further said that 43.11 lakh pensioners too were waiting for the pensions for over six months.
