Vijayawada: Is Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu’s son Nara Lokesh being inducted into the state cabinet?

If the statements of TDP’s top cadre are any indication, then the Nara scion will be inducted into the cabinet as early as September. Sources indicate that the TDP leadership is drawing up plans for a cabinet expansion after the conclusion of the Assembly session which begins on September 8. Lokesh, headed the TDP Workers’s Welfare Fund and is currently the party’s national general secretary.

During an interview to certain media outlets on Friday, Chandrababu is said to have stated that a decision on Lokesh’s induction will be taken soon. “He is already working for the party,” Naidu quipped. The Chief Minister is also said to be toying with the idea of sending Lokesh to Delhi as the party’s Rajya Sabha nominee but fell out with the idea owing to souring of TDP-BJP relations to some extent. After several rounds of discussions with TDP senior leaders, Babu has decided for a state porfolio for Lokesh rather than a central post, sources said.
