Housewife Commits Suicide Blaming Landlord Of Assault

Hyderabad: Due to harassment by the house owner, a housewife committed suicide by hanging herself at her rented house in Medical Society of Srinivasa Nagar Colony under Kukatpally police limits in the early hours on Monday. Before taking the extreme step, Sujatha(28) wrote on the walls of the house, "House owner Prasanna Kumar is responsible for my death. He came to my house and assaulted me when my husband was not home. My death is a befitting punishment to him."

Sujatha and Ramakrishna couple belonging to Palakollu in West Godavari had been staying in the house of Prasanna Kumar in the society for the past two years. They have a three-and-a-half-year-old son and one-and-a-half-year-old daughter.

On Sunday evening, Prasanna Kumar went to Ramakrishna's house and when he was not home, the landlord had a tiff with Sujatha and insulted her in abusive language. Neighbors said he even tried to physically attack her.

Unable to bear the humiliation, Sujatha committed suicide in the wee hours of Monday. Ramakrishna went to attend a marriage in native place on Friday and was about to come back on Monday.

Children are left motherless. Prasanna Kumar is absconding. Police booked a case on him for forcing her to death and are on a manhunt to nab him.
